Late night downtown #seattle run. 8 miler yo. Adrenaline definitely gets going at this time over there!
With less than 8 weeks to go until D-day, here are thoughts after radio silence (tracking and posting workouts here became too much of a chore and ultimately is not worth the time invested):
In design, I ideally create moodboards before starting on a project to get into the right mindset. To up the ante for my mental game, I’m applying this method to my training for the big date (54 days and counting…). The mental aspect is the cornerstone for my journey there.
I love how Nike approaches their branding with their campaigns: ’Pressure makes us’, ‘Make it count’ …etc. I usually hate marketing crap but these campaigns have some serious mojo- a result from sponsoring top tier athletes.
I’ve combed through Nike’s commericals on youtube (I love internet) and have screen cap’ed that mojo. The game plan is to print images out and post them up so it’s visible throughout my daily routine to maintain a positive fighting spirit (especially after another black Selection class this past weekend).
I’ll be sharing them here and maybe the 2 people that read this will get fired up to kick doors down and punch demons in the throat. Here are a few images to kick it off:
Wow @primalpacs are yummy! 24g of protein in this tiny pack for a 11mi ruck march. 41lb loadout
#wednesday night #speedtrials. Increased ruck distance by 0.4mi / hr and sprinted at 6:39. Next, maintaining! (at Queen Anne Bowl Playfield)
#monday night session. Exploring the neighborhood with a 6 brick load out. Ramping up weight & speed.
Inspired by @inmyrunningshoes postings, today was day 1 of militaryathlete.com’s brutal Saturday session. 4 hrs, 16 mi, 60 lbs on the back. Great weather but mind got weak at mile 13.
